MCS
MCS is the UK certification scheme for small-scale renewable installations. An MCS-certified installation is a precondition for several UK incentives, and MCS-compliant documentation — handover packs, commissioning certificates, declarations — is a distinct software capability in the UK market.
MCS is a UK-only regime. A US tool that lacks MCS support is not deficient; it is out of scope. This is why jurisdictional compliance in this dataset is a multi-valued field rather than a single checkbox.
Among UK products, Payaca names MCS documentation and G98/G99 DNO submissions explicitly; Easy PV generates MCS-compliant reports and automated DNO forms.
Why it matters
In the UK it gates the incentives. Everywhere else it is irrelevant — and a comparison table that scores it globally would mislead in both directions.
