A research platform for people choosing solar software, built on the principle that a fact without a source and a date is not worth publishing.
What this is
100 solar software products, researched against their vendors’ own pages, with 2422 normalised facts — each carrying the URL it came from and the date it was read. From that dataset the site generates product profiles, category hubs, 202 comparisons and a requirements-matching tool.
Why it exists
The entire world’s verified review data on solar design software amounts to roughly 733 reviews on one platform, about 95% of it concentrated in three products. Every comparison site in this niche re-aggregates those same reviews and collects none of its own.
Meanwhile 51 of the 87 products we could price-check do not publish a price at all. A buyer cannot answer “what does this cost” without a sales call, let alone compare two products on equal terms. That gap is what this site is for.
How it is built
- Every fact comes from the vendor’s own page, read on a stated date.
- Six evidence states are kept distinct — including the difference between “we searched and did not find it” and “we could not read the page at all”.
- Pages are generated from the database, never hand-written per product. Generated is not the same as invented: no sentence asserts anything the data does not hold.
- When the data holds nothing worth saying, the page is not built. 341 of 716 candidate URLs were refused.
Who publishes it
SolarSoftwares is published by SurgePV Technologies Ltd, which makes solar software. Two products in the dataset belong to that group. Both are listed, both are disclosed, and both are excluded from every score, ranking and recommendation — enforced in code. Read the recusal rule.
