Single-line diagram
A single-line diagram is a simplified electrical schematic showing how a PV system connects — modules, strings, inverters, disconnects, metering and the point of connection — on one line per circuit. Nearly every permit package requires one.
It is the drawing an inspector reads first, and the one most often returned for correction.
Design tools differ sharply here: some generate an SLD automatically, some export a draft for an engineer to finish, and some do not produce one at all. Aurora, for instance, routes plan sets to a paid human service rather than generating them in-product.
Why it matters
If your tool does not generate one, that work moves to a person and a cost you should price in.
