8760 (hourly output)
An 8760 is an hour-by-hour simulation result for a full year — 8,760 hours. It shows when energy is produced rather than only how much, which is what battery sizing, time-of-use tariff modelling and self-consumption analysis all require.
An annual kWh total cannot answer whether a battery pays for itself, because the value of a kilowatt-hour depends on when it arrives. An 8760 gives the shape of the year.
Sub-hourly output — 15-minute or finer — matters more as tariffs get more granular and as storage dispatch becomes the main financial lever.
Why it matters
If storage or a time-of-use tariff is part of the project, an annual total is not enough information to size it.
